HOBART are the global market leader for commercial foodservice equipment and services. For over 100 years, they have developed, produced and sold appliances and systems from the warewashing, cooking, food preparation, as well as waste technology sectors. The company has a global workforce of 6,900 employees, with their UK HQ located in Peterborough.

Becoming Sustainably Focused

Since the pandemic, the sales teams at HOBART have experienced considerably reduced travel, due to virtual meetings. For the necessary meetings, HOBART chose to introduce hybrid and electric company cars to their field-based workforce, as a step forward in becoming sustainably focused.

Switching to electric vehicles will considerably reduce HOBART’s emissions and therefore their carbon footprint. The company predict to save over 200 tonnes of CO2 by the end of 2022, with further vehicle emission savings predicted as more company vehicles move over to electric.

The Objective

HOBART UK, therefore, wanted to install EV charge points to their Peterborough head office to be used by their employees and visitors. The new charge points will encourage staff to maximise electric powered driving on their daily commute to and from work.

The Project

We installed eight Easee charge points in a black finish to designated EV charging bays within the HOBART HQ car park. Four posts were installed with two charge points on either side of each post, in addition to wheel stops within each EV bay to protect the charge point equipment.

HOBART has access to the eFararday App to manage their charge point system, as well as our full Managed Services Package, which includes monitoring and maintenance.

Future EV Strategy

HOBART has big plans for the future. Their next step will be to introduce a fleet of hybrid vans for their nationwide team of Service Technicians and further implement their eFleet strategy.
