Dyson is a global technology company that has established itself as a pioneer in innovative engineering solutions and cutting-edge household appliances. Dyson commits to pushing the boundaries with the design and functionality of all their products. This technological industry leader has diversified its product offerings to include everything from state-of-the-art vacuum cleaners and air purifiers to headphones and hairdryers.
Dyson’s passion for innovation in pursuit of excellence makes the brand eager to address contemporary challenges and pioneer sustainable solutions for a better future.
With this focus on sustainable innovation, Dyson’s partnership with eFaraday Group was intended to address the changing needs of their fleet vehicles across two locations in the UK. Issues with a former provider who had previously installed EV charge points meant Dyson sought out eFaraday Group as a reliable partner to upgrade and manage their charging infrastructure effectively.
The objective of this partnership was to upgrade charging systems, address existing challenges and enhance operational efficiency through electrical improvements. These new charge points were intended to act as a robust and reliable charging network, capable of meeting the evolving needs of their fleet vehicles.
At the initial stage, we were given the task of achieving certain key objectives within the project, which were:
eFaraday Group installed 48 x 7.4Kw and 2 x 22kW charge points across two UK Dyson locations for fleet charging at work. Dyson is using the iEquos software management platform, to power and manage these newly installed EV charge points. The system has a fully supported system using the iEquos mobile application to access and manage the payment solution. iEquos software has allowed for a completely bespoke customer queueing system to be developed to Dyson’s exact requirements, which has enabled better fleet management and user experience for their employees. We have further supported Dyson by deciding on the right monetisation scheme, ensuring these charge points deliver incremental ROI, flexibility and scalability for their future EV adoption.
The project was conducted with future expansion in mind. We are looking to introduce further features to support Dyson such as integrating Apple and Google Pay.
eFaraday Group are working with Dyson to look forward in the future discussing off-grid power solutions and further EV expansion across their sites in the UK, with the goal of producing greener solutions.
With such a diverse and detailed list of objectives, the eFaraday Group and iEquos operational team set towards exceeding the expectations. This developed into a journey with Dyson that not only hit all these marks, it allowed for a system that could be used for many years to come including scalability for the next phases of adoption of EV charging.
